Viesgo, promoting the energy transition
With more than 112 years of experience in the market, Viesgo is an energy company that deals in the generation and distribution of electricity. Thanks to our experience and continued support for innovation and digitalisation, we work incessantly to lead and promote energy transition as the main challenge of the sector.
Decarbonisation, the electrification of the economy, the digital transformation and the new role of the consumer-customer are the trending mainstays of the sector in which Viesgo is to position its main businesses: distribution networks, renewable energies and efficient generation.
A network stretching 31,300 kilometres around the north of Spain and almost 700,000 service delivery points make us the 4th largest energy distributor nationwide. The Viesgo Industrial Plan for 2018-2021 foresees an investment in infrastructures of over 200 million euros, including the construction of the new PCTCAN control centre and the new substation at the Port of Santander.
Almost 1,400 MW of installed capacity in Spain and Portugal, mostly renewables, means that Viesgo has a significant electrical generation capacity and focuses its efforts on the efficient, environment-friendly production of energy.
